Private party in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin: a two-day homage to Slim Aarons

September 4, 2020 · All news

Two days of poolside glamour, live music and a techno set until dawn, at a villa overlooking the Mediterranean.

On 4 September 2020, a private villa overlooking the Mediterranean in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, between Monaco and Menton on the French Riviera, hosted a two-day reception by Lovisolo Ricevimenti for three hundred guests, built around an aesthetic that looked back to the golden age photographed by Slim Aarons.

Between the pool, cocktails and outdoor food stations, guests moved through the day in outfits and hairstyles recalling the international jet set of the 1950s and 1970s, in an atmosphere suspended between seaside villas and the sun-soaked days that made the French Riviera famous.

By day, the soundtrack was entrusted to Alessandro Ristori & The Portofinos, the Italian band that also performed at the wedding of Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam: between numbers in the style of Elvis Presley and Italian and international rock classics from the Sixties and Seventies, the group gave the party a retro flavour somewhere between Italian charm and Las Vegas glitz.

As evening fell, the party changed register: on the dance floor set up in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Matteo Milleri and Carmine Conte, performing as Tale of Us, took over with a techno set that carried guests through to first light.

The event was later covered by Vanity Fair España, which in September 2020 described it as one of the most spectacular parties of that summer on the French Riviera.
